Ottawa – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently met with the members of the Jewish community. He said: “Thank you for speaking so candidly about your pain, your anger, and your grief. I hear you. I want you to know that our commitment to you – and to Israel, as a Jewish and democratic state – is unwavering. I also met with the Toronto Police Service Chief, Chief Myron Demkiw. We spoke about the recent – and alarming – increase in antisemitic incidents, and discussed what more we can do to keep Jewish Canadians safe. As partners, we’ll continue to do what is necessary to tackle hatred in all its forms.”
