SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOLLOWING VIOLENT CARJACKING IN MARKHAM

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking suspects following a carjacking in the City of Markham.

On Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 2 a.m., officers were called to the area of Village Parkway and Buchanan Drive for a report of a carjacking.

The victim had been driving a 2020 black Mercedes AMG and had parked his vehicle outside a residential building.  He was standing outside his vehicle when three male suspects approached him in a brown SUV.  The victim was assaulted by the suspects before one suspect took his keys.

One suspect stole the vehicle and fled the scene prior to police arriving.

The two other suspects left the area in the SUV.

The three suspects are described as male, Black, 6’.

At 11:30 a.m. on November 21, 2021 investigators learned the stolen Mercedes was parked in the area of Langstaff Road and Higway 27. Officers approached the vehicle, however the suspects fled the area.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage of either the original theft or of the vehicle in the Langstaff Road and Highway 27, area.
