DUESSELDORF – Prince Harry and his wife Meghan reached Duesseldorf, Germany to promoted the Invictus Games, a competition for wounded, injured and ill service personnel and veterans, sports similar to the Paralympics. They were welcomed by the mayor and fans. The Invictus Games will be held at Duesseldorf’s Merkus Spiel arena in a year’s time.
Beijing – International Paralympic Committee has expelled athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in Paralympics in Beijing. Earlier it announced it would allow them to compete in Games that open today, but only as neutral athletes. The Russian Paralympic Committee has called the decision “illegal.” The Paralympics in Beijing closes on March 13.
