Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he discussed the situation at the front, Russian airstrikes, the American delivery of air defense systems and the future peace agreement with Russia with the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
– I congratulated President Trump and the entire American people on Independence Day. We in Ukraine are grateful for the support provided, which allows us to protect people’s lives and our independence. We have done a lot together with America and we support all efforts to stop the killings and establish a normal, stable, decent peace. A decent agreement is needed for peace, and Ukraine supports the American proposals – said Zelensky.
He stated that he agreed with Trump to jointly work on strengthening the protection of the Ukrainian skies, as well as on the meeting of the Ukrainian and American teams, reports Ukrinform.

– We also discussed in detail the possibilities of the defense industry, the possibilities of joint production. We are ready for direct projects with America and we believe that this is necessary for security, especially in connection with drones and related technologies – Zelenski emphasized.

Axios previously reported that Trump and Zelensky discussed weapons for air defense and the escalation of Russian attacks on Ukraine, the portal reported, citing unnamed sources.

The chief of staff of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, confirmed that the two leaders had a telephone conversation, but did not give details.

– A very important and significant conversation between the presidents. All details will be available very soon – said Jermak, reports Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Zelensky said that he will talk to Trump about the issue of arms deliveries from the United States of America.

Earlier this week, US media reported that the Pentagon had decided to suspend the supply of ammunition and missiles to Ukraine.

Washington’s decision to suspend some arms shipments to Ukraine prompted warnings from Kiev that the move would weaken its ability to defend against intense airstrikes and Russian advances on the battlefield.

Germany announced that it is in talks to buy the Patriot air defense system for Ukraine, and Trump spoke with German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz on Thursday.

The two leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine, including strengthening the country’s air defenses, as well as trade issues
