Lifestyle Toronto – held on the 11th and 12th June at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, brought the globally renowned Riwayat brand to Canada with the presence and accolades that are the trade mark of the Riwayat global fashion and exhibition event, representing premier brands of South Asian fashion and accessories.
The exclusive 2 day – runway and exhibition featuring both renowned and emerging South Asian designers, was a “runway” hit with a packed hall of audience from all over GTA on both days – bringing together political, diplomatic, business and fashion connoisseurs together in a true celebration of design that remains the unmatchable hallmark of South Asian craftsmanship. The event supported by the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto marked the 75th Anniversary of establishment of Canada Pakistan diplomatic relations.
Riwayat which means ‘tradition’ has been showcasing the best of textile and fashion from Pakistan and India to new audiences for a decade. Their flagship event “Pakistan Fashion Week London” has presented hundreds of designers to the European market in iconic locations in London, Prague, Rome, Geneva, Karachi, Lahore, with Toronto being the latest addition to their ever-increasing and prestigious global roster.
Riwayat, with its global multi-purpose fashion mission and has marked its North American debut with Toronto. And the remarkable convocation of over 60 fashion brands, both renowned and emerging, left the audience enthralled and with repeated calls for making it a regular event.
As mentioned by Riwayat CEO Adnan Ansari: “Toronto has been a true eye opener, and I am humbled by the support and enthusiasm of Greater Toronto Area community in both their love of fashion and encouragement of South Asian designers.
