Formula One legend Michael Schumacher signed a special helmet to support his teammate Jackie Stewart’s charity at Sunday’s race in Bahrain.
The helmet, signed by all 20 living Formula One world champions, was worn by Stewart during the lap of honour at the Bahrain Grand Prix, which marks the 60th anniversary of his Formula One debut. The white helmet, featuring Stewart’s signature tartan pattern, is a symbol of support for the fight against dementia.

Schumacher, who retired from public life after suffering a serious brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013, added his initials “MS” to the helmet with the help of his wife Corinne. This completes the world champion’s signature collection.
A drive with a noble cause
Stewart founded Race Against Dementia in 2016 after his wife Helen was diagnosed with the disease. The organization aims to accelerate global scientific research into the prevention and treatment of dementia, inspired by the speed and efficiency of Formula 1.
It’s great that Michael was able to sign a helmet for this noble cause, as it is a disease for which there is still no cure. His wife helped him and with that the collection of signatures of all living world champions is now complete. – Jackie Stewart
