Ottawa – Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, yesterday met with Liesje Schreinemacher, the Netherlands’ Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
Minister Ng thanked Minister Schreinemacher for advancing ratification of the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in the Netherlands and highlighted how CETA has been a game changer for Canadian and Dutch businesses and exporters. Under CETA, the value of Canadian exports to the Netherlands has more than doubled since 2016.
The ministers reiterated their commitment to advancing the Canada-Netherlands Strategic Dialogue and agreed to deepen collaboration in clean technology, agricultural technology and semiconductors. The ministers also discussed how Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy has been supporting women entrepreneurs and exporters and reaffirmed that both countries emphasis on promoting inclusive trade.
