eAwazLifestyle

Brampton – June is heritage month in Brampton, with celebrations throughout to honour the City’s diverse communities. Residents are invited to enjoy live entertainment and traditional cuisine as we celebrate Italian Heritage Month, Portuguese Heritage Month and Filipino Heritage Month.
The City of Brampton is proud to honour our diverse mosaic by highlighting the different cultures of our residents and the significant contributions of Italian, Portuguese and Filipino Canadians in making Brampton the incredible city it is today. Celebrations begin Saturday, June 3, with a community flag raising in honour of Portuguese Heritage Month. From June 2 to 4, residents can take part in the Lusofonia Festival in Gage Park, which will feature a weekend of music, children’s entertainment and a gastronomy and handicraft fair.
Visit www.brampton.ca/portugueseheritagemonth for full event details.
On Sunday, June 11, the City of Brampton partners with Brampton Filipino Seniors Club, Federation of Filipino Canadians in Brampton, Knights of Rizal and Alliance of Ladies of the Knights of Rizal to celebrate Filipino Heritage Month. In honour of Philippine Independence Day, the flag of the Philippines will be raised to commemorate the nation gaining independence in 1898, and residents are invited to enjoy entertainment and free traditional cuisine.
