Celebrity Summit cruise liner passengers infected with norovirus

Washington – According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 200 passengers aboard the Celebrity Summit cruise liner were infected with the norovirus between May 15–May 25. Twenty-five crew members and 152 of the 2,144 passengers reported norovirus symptoms. Norovirus, commonly known as the stomach flu, spreads quickly and causes diarrhoea and dehydration, was the cause. It spreads swiftly through contact with infected persons, contaminated surfaces, tainted food, polluted water, and vomit and faeces particles. It’s difficult to contain also.
