Power naps vital for healthy brain

London – According to The Guardian, the researchers say power naps are essential because cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative diseases are associated with an accelerated rate of brain shrinkage. It is a natural process associated with ageing. Some research suggests it might be linked to sleep issues. Researchers said:  “In line with these studies, we found an association between habitual daytime napping and larger total brain volume, which could suggest that napping regularly provides some protection against neurodegeneration through compensating for poor sleep.”
