NYC – A new report from the United Nations (UN) has shown concern about the high prevalence of high blood pressure, or hypertension, in the world.  One third adults are facing high blood pressure but most of them are not receiving proper treatment, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Hypertension is called the silent killer, because it does not show any noticeable symptoms. Nearly half of those having this condition are unaware of their perilous health status. The UN report says high blood pressure is responsible for over 10 million “avoidable” deaths each year, making it one of the leading risk factors for death and disability.
