Canada invests in BioTwin to fund innovative AI technology

Project will help revolutionize the health care industry and improve patient care

Québec – Canadian small and medium-sized businesses play a vital role in driving innovation and contributing to Canada’s vibrant research and development ecosystem. As more and more companies harness the power of artificial intelligence, the Government of Canada is delivering on its commitment to support the growth of Canadian businesses while helping to position Canada as a world leader in responsible artificial intelligence research and innovation.

Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Member of Parliament for Québec, on behalf of François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, celebrated the success of BioTwin and announced that the company is receiving advisory services and up to $425,000 in funding through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).

The funding will support the development of BioTwin’s virtual twin technology, which uses patients’ metabolomic profiles and artificial intelligence to detect and predict early cancer development to better assist health care professionals. Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to supporting innovative Canadian businesses, helping them take their big ideas to the next level. By helping to revolutionize our health care industry, this contribution also aligns with Canada’s Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy and supports the growth of Canada’s life sciences ecosystem.
