Invictus Games Foundation Delegation Visits Vancouver and Whistler

Vancouver – A delegation of senior representatives from the Invictus Games Foundation are in Vancouver and Whistler this week, invited by the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 organizing committee for a pre-planned visit. The delegation included Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex and Founder and Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation.

With less than 14 months to go until the start of the Games, the delegation is visiting venues, reviewing operational plans and focusing on delivering the first-ever winter adaptive sports program at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. As part of the preparations for the Games, every Invictus Games has a chance to host members of the Invictus Games Foundation to walk through plans and the experience of the competitors and the friends and family.

The Invictus Games Foundation team had the opportunity to visit some of the world class venues that will host the sporting action and ceremonies. In Vancouver, the delegation visited the Vancouver Convention Centre and the Hillcrest Centre. The delegation also visited Rogers Arena which will serve as the host venue for the Celebration Ceremony to conclude the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. As part of the visit, The Duke of Sussex took part in the ceremonial puck drop for last nights game between the Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks.

With the introduction of the first ever winter sports program at the Invictus Games, the team also visited key venues in Whistler including the Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Blackcomb and Whistler Olympic Park. The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will take place from 8th to 16th February and will see up to 550 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and Veterans from up to 25 nations travel to British Columbia to compete in both winter and indoor adaptive sporting events.
