Karachi – Amidst the current surge in food prices, let’s pause to recognize our privilege – the ability to afford food while thousands of women in Pakistan still cannot afford to feed their children. In Pakistan, 20% of children are stunted at birth, and more than 52% have experienced wasting by their second birthday. This is the harsh reality. These precious babies are not even getting the most basic necessities they need, such as milk. Envision the desperation of a new mother, cradling her fragile infant, frantically praying, hoping that she can provide the essential food and nutrients necessary for her newborn’s survival. It is a stark reminder that while we navigate our difficulties, there are those facing a much more profound struggle for the most basic necessities of life.
