Girls and Women’s Sport Leadership Conference

BRAMPTON – The City of Brampton is gearing up for the return of its We Play Too Conference on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Residents and visitors are invited to join this free groundbreaking event. The We Play Too Conference aims to empower individuals who identify as girls, women, non-binary and gender diverse ages 14 to 29 participating in girl’s and women’s sports to explore and consider leadership roles within the industry. Registration is now open for this conference.
Creating memorable and inspiring experiences for participants each year, We Play Too focuses on the positive influence of sports by encouraging participants to use their strengths both on and off the field, inspires resiliency in the face of adversity and shares leadership skills through the lens of the journey as an athlete. This year’s conference is anticipated to welcome hundreds of participants from across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
In addition to sports demonstrations and try-it sessions, participants will have an opportunity to network with local athletes and engage with sports leadership professionals in a panel and Q&A session. Panellists include:
  • Alessia Franco, Program Specialist, Jays Care Foundation
  • Melanie Bradley, Executive Director, Oakville Futsal Club
  • Simi Olatunji, Manager of Office Administration, Toronto Argonauts
Conference participants will also hear inspiring speeches from Deputy Mayor, Harkirat Singh and Regional Councillors and Brampton’s Women’s Advisory Committee co-chairs Navjit Kaur Brar and Rowena Santos.
The City of Brampton is known as a living mosaic, and its diverse population is one of its greatest strengths.
