BRAMPTON— The City of Brampton’s winter maintenance service contract for roads, sidewalks and transit stops is being renewed and the City is seeking public input. Residents are invited to participate in an online survey to shape future snow-clearing and associated costs. The survey aims to gather the public’s opinions on the potential expansion of snow-clearing services and potential cost increases to property taxes.
Key service options to consider
  • Sidewalk Clearing: The cost to clear sidewalks city-wide is estimated at $2.6 million, translating to an average increase of $12 per year in property taxes per household.
  • Windrow Clearing: The cost to clear windrows (snow ridges left by snowplows) from driveways is estimated at $19.6 million, resulting in an average increase of $86 per year in property taxes per household.
How to participate
Residents can take the survey by visiting Letsconnect.brampton.ca/snow-removal. This feedback collected will play a crucial role in shaping the City’s approach to winter maintenance.
