Ottawa, Ontario -Mary Ng, Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development, is visiting Athens, Greece, and Rome, Italy, from July 11 to 15, to deepen bilateral relations and promote trade and investment in those countries. She will also participate in the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Trade, to be held in Villa San Giovanni and Reggio Calabria, Italy, from July 16 to 17.
Minister Ng’s bilateral visits to Greece and Italy represent an opportunity for Canada to reinforce its commercial relationships with both countries and engage with key investors, innovators and companies. While in Athens and Rome, Minister Ng will highlight the benefits of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement since its provisional application in 2017.
At the G7 meeting, Minister Ng will advance Canada’s interests on trade priorities including supply chain resilience, trade and the environment, and the path forward to support global economic prosperity. Minister Ng is also scheduled to meet with international counterparts to discuss trade priorities that provide opportunities for Canadian businesses and workers.
