Fredericton – Growing the green economy is not only good for the environment – it creates jobs and fosters long-term economic resilience. The Government of Canada is investing to help a clean technology company headquartered in Fredericton, New Brunswick, grow and expand its operations.
Jenica Atwin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services and Member of Parliament for Fredericton, announced a non-repayable contribution of $50,000 for Nu:ionic Technologies (Canada) Inc. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.
The investment will help the company expand its operations through the hiring of expertise to oversee the critical testing phase of cutting-edge, commercial-scale technology designed to eliminate the need for combustion by replacing that process with clean electricity. This announcement highlights how the Government of Canada is contributing to Atlantic Canada’s momentum by strengthening our communities, creating new opportunities, and setting the stage for a strong, sustainable future.
“Reducing emissions is good for the economy and good for the planet—a win-win. Your federal government is focused on growing our economy by giving Canadian businesses like Nu:ionic the support they need to expand their operations, reduce operating costs, and create great jobs in an industry that’s ready for the future.” – Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA
