Quebec – Aurélie Rivard, Canada’s 13-time Paralympic Games medallist in Para swimming, saw the pool where she developed her world class skills named in her honour on Monday in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., situated a half hour drive from downtown Montreal. The pool was previously named the Complexe sportif Claude-Raymond in honour of the Canadian baseball trailblazer who ended his career in the early seventies with the Expos. Raymond, 87, was present at the ceremony. ‘’I spent most of my life at this facility which symbolizes personal growth, inclusion, and excellence for me,’’ said Rivard, just back from a triple medal performance including one gold at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
