Iran has responded to the letter sent by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding nuclear deal negotiations.
According to foreign media reports, President Trump had sent a letter to Iran on March 12, but the contents of the letter were not officially disclosed.
However, according to Trump, he had requested negotiations with Iran for a new nuclear deal.
Trump said that there were two ways to deal with Iran—one was military, and the other was through an agreement. He expressed a preference for an agreement, stating, “I would like to make a deal because I don’t want to harm Iran. They are very good people.”
Iran did not respond immediately to the letter.
However, Iran has now stated that it has replied to Trump’s letter regarding the nuclear negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Thursday that the official response includes a letter clarifying Iran’s perspective on the current situation and Trump’s letter.
The Iranian foreign minister mentioned that the letter was handed over to Oman, which is acting as a mediator in the matter.
The foreign minister also stated that, as in the past, indirect negotiations with the U.S. could still take place.
It is worth noting that in Trump’s letter to Iran’s top officials, he had given Iran a two-month deadline for a new nuclear agreement.
