Ottawa – Defence Minister Anita Anand will travel to Brussels, Belgium from June 15-16 to meet with allies and partners. On June 15, Minister Anand will participate in the thirteenth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, hosted by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III. This meeting is an important opportunity for approximately 50 countries to discuss the current and future defence needs of Ukraine, and to coordinate the provision of military aid to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable war. On June 15 and 16, Minister Anand will participate in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato) Defence Ministers’ Meeting, where allies will discuss our shared work to advance Euro-Atlantic security.
