Ottawa – Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, will be in Singapore from May 31 to June 2, to strengthen Canada’s defence relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Minister Blair is joined by the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Wayne Eyre, and senior National Defence officials.
While in Singapore, Minister Blair will attend the Shangri-La Dialogue – the annual conference on Indo-Pacific security that brings together defence ministers, senior officials, and defence experts from more than 50 countries.
During his trip, Minister Blair will meet with counterparts from countries in the region and around the world, to discuss the successful implementation of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and how investments announced in Our North, Strong and Free will assist in continued partnership.
June 2 – 9:30am – Minister Blair will deliver remarks during a plenary session entitled Connecting Indian Ocean and Pacific Security.
