Ottawa – Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs is visiting Sweden for high-level bilateral meetings. She will be in Czechia from May 30 to 31, to attend an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
In Stockholm, Sweden, Minister Joly met with Tobias Billström, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and senior government officials to build on the 2 countries’ significant relationship. Minister Joly will emphasize Canada’s staunch support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Minister Joly will also seek to strengthen cooperation on transatlantic security and in the Arctic, including through the Canada-Nordic strategic dialogue.
In Prague, Czechia, Minister Joly will meet with her NATO counterparts to discuss key issues of importance to the alliance in advance of NATO’s 75th anniversary summit in Washington, DC, from July 9 to 11, 2024. The Minister will also have a bilateral meeting with Jan Lipavský, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, to discuss the continued support for Ukraine and exchange on other world conflicts.
