Minister Ng leads Canada Clean Tech Trade Mission to Chile

Ottawa – Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, will lead a Canada Trade Mission to Chile from April 10-12, 2023, to explore sustainable business opportunities in Chile’s clean technology sector.

To further advance Canada-Chile trade relations, Minister Ng will meet with Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Alberto van Klaveren, Minister of Mining Marcela Hernando, Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism Nicolas Grau as well as Minister of Women and Gender Equity Antonia Orellana.

This will be an opportunity to promote opportunities for job-creating foreign direct investment into Canada, inclusive trade, women’s empowerment and responsible business conduct as well as strengthen our cooperation on the sustainable development of critical minerals and metals.

Minister Ng will also engage with Canadian businesses operating in Chile that are providing sustainable and efficient solutions to improve affordable access to fresh water as well as cleaner and more efficient lithium extraction.
