Toronto – Mayor Olivia Chow, Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie (Scarborough-Rouge Park) and Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik (Spadina-Fort York) were joined by representatives from Rogers and the Daily Bread Food Bank for the unveiling of Taylor Swift Way, in honour of the pop megastar’s upcoming Taylor Swift-The Eras Tour shows at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Speakers gave formal remarks at a podium, followed by the sign unveiling. Mayor Chow held media scrum after the unveiling. For the month of November, the City designated the route from Nathan Phillips Square to Rogers Centre along Queen Street West, John Street, Front Street and Blue Jays Way as Taylor Swift Way with the installation of ceremonial street signs. The signage, created in partnership with Rogers, will be donated to Daily Bread Food Bank to auction after the concert series ends. Taylor Swift will perform six sold-out shows at Rogers Centre on November 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23. Rogers is the presenting sponsor of Taylor Swift-The Eras Tour in Canada.
