Brampton’s 2024 summer, school year recreation programs

BRAMPTON — Beginning Monday, May 27, the City of Brampton will unveil its listing of exciting recreation programs for the 2024 summer session. Patrons are invited to explore a diverse selection of programs for all ages and interests.

Key dates

  • Registrations for most summer programs, including sports, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and general interest programs, will begin on Monday, June 10, at 6 am.
  • School Year Programs (Adults Developing and Participating Together (ADAPT), Brampton Lifesaving Club (BLC), Full Year Preschool, Recital Dance) will also begin on Monday, June 10 at 6 am.
  • Registration for Learn to Swim and Learn to Skate programs will begin on Monday, June 24, at 6 am.
  • Non-resident program registration begins on Monday, July 1, at 6 am.

2024 Summer Camps

City of Brampton’s summer camps offer a wide range of activities and experiences for children, youth and young adults ages four to 21 and older. Registration for these programs is open and spots are going fast.

A featured camp this year is the Brampton Honey Badgers (BHB) Summer Camp Takeover. Brampton Honey Badgers, one of the original franchises of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), will take over Brampton summer camps from July 8 to 12. Participants registered for this week will have a unique summer camp experience, including:

  • A visit from Hammer (the Brampton Honey Badgers mascot) and team members.
  • Travel to the CAA Centre on Wednesday, July 10, to experience a professional basketball game when the Honey Badgers host the Ottawa BlackJacks.
  • Participate in a week of basketball-themed camp activities and giveaways.

Youth Outdoor Cricket League

New this year, beginning July 2, the City will kick off the first-ever Youth Cricket League. In recognition of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada, a cricket tournament hosted in Brampton annually, the new cricket league will mirror the GT20 tournament format, with six teams in each age group. The league will have three age groups for youth ages six to 15 and will run for nine weeks throughout the summer. To learn more and register for the league, visit Brampton.ca/cricket​.

Brampton Sports League

Brampton Sports League is an opportunity for individuals aged 18 and older of all skill levels to play recreational sports in a social and supportive environment. This season offers ball hockey, volleyball, flag football and youth cricket league. Registration for Brampton Sports League summer 2024 season begins on Monday, May 27, at 6 am, with sessions beginning in July.

In-person registration

Patrons can visit a recreation centre to register for programs. In addition, laptops are available at select recreation centres for City staff to support residents during registrations. They include:

  • Cassie Campbell Community Centre
  • Chinguacousy Wellness Centre
  • Gore Meadows Community Centre
  • Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre
  • Susan Fennell Sportsplex

Online Registration

To help ensure a seamless online registration process, residents are asked to:

  • Make sure you can log in to your online account in advance.
  • Check your personal information on your account to ensure accuracy.
  • Browse programs in advance of registration day and make a shortlist.
  • Add your credit card information to your account in advance. We can no longer accept financial information over the phone or via email.
  • Use the date range filter and select the next session date to browse available courses.
  • Do not refresh the page while payment is being processed.
  • The Google Chrome browser provides the best user experience.

Patrons will be added to a virtual waiting room on the day of registration to ensure a fair and equitable process and help improve the online registration experience.

​Financial Assistance for residents

ActiveAssistgenerously sponsored by 407 ETR and Capital Power, is a fee subsidy program offered by the City of Brampton, designed to help low-income individuals and families in Brampton participate in recreation programs. This program is available for Brampton families who qualify.

Approved applicants each receive a $275 credit, which can be used toward a wide variety of drop-in and registered recreation programs and services. Each eligible ActiveAssist participant is enrolled for a two-year period.
