Bring your big ideas for a new Arts Centre in Brampton

eAwazLifestyle

BRAMPTON – Beginning today, the City of Brampton is seeking feedback from Brampton residents, artists, cultural workers, organizations, and creative businesses to determine the size, scope, and offerings for a future Arts Centre in Brampton. Located at the Flower City Community Campus, once open, the Centre will be a dedicated space for the community to create, present, and experience creative works.

On March 9, 2023, City Council passed a motion to build a new arts centre to expand the available amount of creative spaces that support and showcase Brampton’s growing arts, culture and creative industries. As a part of developing the new Centre for the Arts, individuals are encouraged to share big ideas for the centre by attending a community pop-up, virtual workshop or participating in an online survey.

“Art builds community connections, inspires creativity and allows us to celebrate the talent Brampton has to offer. As we build a new space to come together and experience art and culture, your feedback is vital in shaping a space that reflects who we are as a city.”  –   Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton

“Our community is a mosaic of diversity and creativity, and we want our new Arts Centre to reflect the talent that lives here. With your big ideas, we can shape a future art space that ensures we can continue to experience, learn and celebrate art in our city. –  Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, Wards 1 and 5; Chair, Community Services of Brampton
