Celebrate Eid with City of Brampton

eAwazLifestyle

Brampton – As Ramadan begins, the City of Brampton is pleased to invite the community to celebrate Eid. On April 23, members of the community are invited to Gage Park, from 2 to 5pm as we come together and mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid ul Fitr.  This free City-wide Eid celebration includes an entertaining stage program, fun-filled family activities, free giveaways and more.  On site will be Halal food trucks and market vendors for purchase. Eid ul-Fitr is a time to gather and celebrate with family, friends, and community. To continue the spirit of giving back, attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy in support of the local food bank and women’s shelter.

“As we welcome the holy month of Ramadan, we wish the Muslim community a spiritual and rewarding month of fasting, abstinence, worship and prayer. The Muslim community is especially charitable during this month and so we celebrate the prosperity and strength of our community and City because of the contributions of the Muslim community. Brampton is such a rich mosaic of a City and I look forward to gathering with all after Ramadan to celebrate Eid ul Fitr at Gage Park.” – Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton
