One Million Trees Program
In February 2020, Brampton Council approved the Brampton One Million Trees Program – a framework for the City and its partners to increase tree planting initiatives and realize the target of one million trees by 2040.
Everyone has an important role to play in helping Brampton achieve its one million new tree goal, whether it’s the City planting on its own properties, or residents, businesses or City partners participating in tree planting events, spreading the word about the importance of planting trees and the Brampton One Million Tree program, and/or donating resources to support tree planting across the city.
“Tree Month is a great time for us to focus on nurturing our green city! I am encouraging all residents to get involved this month and help us plant trees throughout our community. Trees provide so many benefits, including cleaner air, reducing the effects of climate change, and beautifying our community. Be sure to come out and celebrate Tree Month with us and pick up your free tree on one of the tree giveaway days!” – Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton
