City of Brampton Holiday Hours & Closures

Residents can call 311 or 905.874.2000 (outside of Brampton), use the Brampton 311 app (available on App Store or Google Play), visit www.311brampton.ca​ or email 311@brampton.ca for any inquiries. 311 is available 24/7 for any City of Brampton or Region of Peel matters.

Brampton Transit will be running on a Holiday Service schedule from Monday, December 25, 2023, to Sunday, January 7, 2024. Reduced weekday service will be in effect with School Special Service, Secondary School extra trips and route 199 UTM Express cancelled. Route 501C frequency will be adjusted to 15 minutes during AM and PM peak periods travelling eastbound to York University and 30 minutes travelling westbound to Bramalea Terminal. Regular service resumes on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Brampton Transit will run on the following schedule for the holiday season:

Brampton Transit’s Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed from December 22, 2023, at noon until January 1, 2024. The Transit Service Centres and Contact Centre will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024.  Ride free on Brampton Transit this New Year’s Eve after 7pm with extended service offered.

Until December 17, donate non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys at various locations in Brampton, including City Hall, Recreation Centres and participating libraries. Registration for Brampton Recreation’s winter programs, including holiday and march break camps, is open for residents of Brampton. Programs are available to view online at www.brampton.ca/registerforprograms. Registration for the winter Learn to Swim and Learn to Skate programs begins at 6 am on Monday, December 18.

Winter registered programs begin the week of January 8, 2024.

The Brampton Animal Shelter will run on the following schedule:

The shelter will reopen for regular business on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Animal Control will be on the road from 8 am to 6:30 pm from December 23 to 26, 2023 and December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024. Animal Control will be on the road from 7 am to 10 pm on December 27 to 29, 2023. Outside of these hours, Animal Control will be responding to emergencies only.

Ring in the New Year with skating at Gage Park, a live concert hosted by Jay Martin, featuring performances by local Brampton artists Young Cake, Ajhani Azure and DuoTang, Brampton Arts Walk of Fame inductee and JUNO award-winner Keshia Chanté, and a headlining performance by Canadian rock band and four-time JUNO award-winner Our Lady Peace. End the night with dazzling fireworks presented by Tim Hortons.
