Brampton celebrates National Public Works Week

Brampton – The City of Brampton celebrates National Public Works Week (NPWW), from May 21 to 27, with a week of in-person activities to celebrate those who provide vital services for the community.
National Public Works Week calls attention to the importance of public works in community life, seeking to enhance the importance of the often-unsung public works heroes of our society, the professionals who serve the public every day with quiet dedication.
This year’s theme is Connecting the World through Public Works, as more than 400 members of the City of Brampton team work every single day to keep the community safe, clean and moving.
To celebrate NPWW this year, the City of Brampton, will host members of the public at several events, including a truck rodeo and the bus pull, and a food drive will be run by Public Works and Engineering team members throughout the month. Proceeds will support Knight’s Table. Non-perishable food items and toiletries can be dropped off at Brampton City Hall, Flower City Community Campus, Williams Parkway Operations Centre, and the Sandalwood Operations Yard.

“Public Works reaches into every single service we provide and every single space in this City. This team works behind the scenes each and every day to ensure our communities are safe and clean. National Public Works Week is a celebration of that and an opportunity for us to learn of all the opportunities ahead for our growing workforce.” Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton
