BRAMPTON – For a third year, the City of Brampton has been ranked as one of Canada’s top 20 locations to invest by Site Selection Magazine. Competing on an international stage, Brampton maintains its place on the list. The City of Brampton’s economic development office is one of only 70 economic development organizations in the world to be recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). The AEDO program recognizes the professional excellence of economic development organizations. Through its dedicated team, the office strives to establish favourable conditions to attract businesses and support them as they grow.
Brampton’s central location in Canada’s Innovation Corridor and talented workforce are key components in attracting investment, jobs and new businesses to the City. Brampton continues to focus its economic development efforts on the City’s key sectors: innovation and technology, advanced manufacturing, food and beverage processing and health and life sciences. Some of the most recent investments include:
- Axium Packaging Inc. is investing over $80 million for a new plastics manufacturing facility that will create 250 new jobs.
- Lululemon, a popular athleisure clothing company, announced that it is building its largest distribution facility in North America, right here in Brampton. The facility will bring 1,500 jobs to Brampton.
