Montréal – The new modernized facilities at the Sainte-Aurélie border crossing are now in service. This is the result of a $4 million investment as part of the Land Border Crossing Project, which will upgrade several ports of entry across the country to improve the border crossing experience for travellers, provide border services officers with upgraded infrastructure and technology, and deliver on the border of the future.
These new facilities support the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) commitment to security while meeting environmental standards. They provide CBSA officers with a more functional workspace, allowing them to serve travellers more efficiently while protecting our communities. It is also the first example of a Base Compact model port of entry, designed by the Agency for remote areas with lower-volumes.
“This first port of entry in the Base Compact series is a concrete example of how our government is enabling the Canada Border Services Agency to modernize the border and support our front-line officers.” – Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Public Safety
