Check voters’ list, apply to vote by mail in Ward 15, Don Valley West By-election

Toronto – Eligible voters in the upcoming Ward 15, Don Valley West By-election can confirm if they are on the voters’ list, add their name to the list, update their information and apply to vote by mail. To check or update information on the voters’ list, residents are encouraged to visit MyVote webpage or call 311. Changes must be made by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 to appear on the final voters’ list.

After this time, eligible voters can add their name to the voters’ list when they go to vote in person, either during:

  • Advance voting on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 from 10am to 7pm, or on
  • Election day, Monday, November 4 from 10am to 8pm

Voter Information Cards

  • Starting Thursday, October 17, Voter Information Cards (VIC) will be mailed to eligible voters who are on the voters’ list by October 10.
  • A VIC provides information about when and where to vote during the advance vote or on election day.
  • Eligible voters do not need a VIC to vote and a VIC is not an acceptable form of identification for voting purposes.

Eligible voters are encouraged to visit MyVote webpage to:

  • Find out if they are on the voters’ list
  • Add, change or update their voters’ list information
  • Apply to vote by mail
  • View, download or print their VIC
  • Check the list of candidates running for the office of Councillor, Ward 15
  • Find out where and when to vote
  • Find accessibility information about their voting place.

Vote by mail
Starting today, eligible voters can apply to vote by mail in the Ward 15, Don Valley West by-election by visiting the Toronto Elections webpage.

Applicants can track the status of their Mail-in Voting package using the confirmation code received by email after completing the online application. Mail-in Voting packages will be sent starting Friday, October 4.

Completed Mail-in Voting packages must be received by Toronto Elections by noon on Monday, October 28. Completed packages can be mailed to Toronto Elections through Canada Post or hand delivered to a secure Mail-in Voting drop box. Two yellow drop boxes will be available in Ward 15 between Monday, October 21 and Monday, October 28.
