Toronto – The City of Toronto’s spring cleanup is underway! Parks staff work hard year-round to keep the City’s 1,500 parks and green spaces vibrant and beautiful with dedicated efforts to refresh these public spaces after the winter. Residents are encouraged to get some fresh air and explore the city’s green spaces. Staff began opening spring and summer washrooms and drinking fountains in early spring. During the opening routine staff check for winter damage, inspect pipes and fixtures, make repairs and flush the pipes. The entire process takes approximately four weeks and is weather dependent. Some washroom buildings are more than fifty years old and need extra maintenance.
