Dartmouth – In Atlantic Canada’s shift toward a greener economy, embracing small and large-scale renewable energy is essential. That is why the Government of Canada is committed to supporting the development of cleaner, renewable energy sources and fostering a healthy startup ecosystem.
Wind energy that fits in your backpack
Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour, announced $391,545 in repayable contributions to Aurea Technologies to support sales, marketing, and production of its portable wind turbine, Shine. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister Responsible for ACOA.
This investment will help Aurea increase efficiency and expand production of the Shine Turbine by purchasing specialized quality control, assembly, packaging and prototype equipment. Aurea will also develop its digital marketing assets to help grow sales domestically and enter new global markets. These improvements will help make Shine a cost-competitive choice for consumers, assist in company scale-up, and pave the way for the development of new wind energy products.
“I love seeing the incredible impact young, women entrepreneurs in Atlantic Canadian are having on the region and the world. Investing in innovative, forward-thinking companies like Aurea lays the foundation for a stronger, greener future for everyone, while bringing good jobs and great ideas to Atlantic Canada.” – Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA
