Lintec Label and Print Solutions to expand sustainable products and create jobs with $1-million investment from Government of Canada
Brantford – Ontario’s manufacturers are leading the charge in the growing market for environmentally sustainable products. Our government is investing in these businesses to help them develop innovative ways to produce sustainable solutions, create good jobs, and move Canada towards a zero plastic waste future.
Canadian businesses are growing and creating jobs in our communities. Our government believes in investing in people to reach their full potential and create possibilities for growth in our communities.
Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), along with Vance Badawey, Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre, announced an investment of $1 million for Lintec Label and Print Solutions (Lintec) to help to establish a southern Ontario-based supply of standard and sustainable packaging for critical sectors, including food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals.
With almost 30 years of experience, Lintec manufactures self-adhesive pressure-sensitive prime labels as well as thermal, direct thermal, and blank labels for the food and beverage, household and personal care markets. The company uses an environmentally-friendly process that does not use solvents and allows for safe disposal of waste from its production process. With this investment, the company will add advanced manufacturing equipment to produce new compostable, recyclable, and cost-effective packaging including bags, pouches and other solutions made from paper, aluminum foil and bioplastics. Lintec has partnered with Lambton College, which will support the project with research to improve safety, recyclability, reliability and profitability.
As a result of this investment, the company will undertake facility improvements, upskill current employees, respond to the growing demand for standard and environmentally-sustainable solutions, and create eight new jobs in the community of Brantford. The Government of Canada is investing in people and key companies so they can reach their full potential and develop new possibilities, so everyone can succeed.
“Canadians have been clear – they want to grow their local economy and ensure a clean environment for future generations. Businesses like Lintec Label and Print Solutions are paving the way for Canadian businesses to meet the demand for more environmentally-friendly products. Our government will continue to support businesses and organizations like Lintec that are committed to finding sustainable solutions for everyday products, supporting a strong future for all Canadians.” – Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario
