PM, Minister of Sport meet eligible families who received Canada Child Benefit

Ottawa – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport, met several families to inquire if they were receiving Canada Child Benefit. Pascale said: “More money in the pockets of families, that’s what matters to you and to your government. The next payment of the #CanadaChildBenefit was issued to eligible familieson July 20. Up to $7,500 this year.” Due to wildfires, some Canadians may experience a delay in the mail delivery of their CRA benefit and credit cheques. If you are affected, visit Canada Post for updates on your mail delivery. Use My Account to register for direct deposit and avoid interruptions to the tax refund or benefit payments.

The CRA has resumed its work to address taxpayer debt. Tax refunds, benefit and credit payments may be applied to pay outstanding balances. You can check the status of your benefits by logging into your CRA My Account. Contact the CRA if debt repayment causes you financial hardship.
