Ontario – Premier Doug Ford released the following statement on Toronto election results. He said: “I want to congratulate Olivia Chow on tonight’s election win and on becoming the next mayor of Toronto. Throughout Olivia’s life, she has proven her desire and dedication to serving the city that many of us call home. While we’re not always going to agree on everything, what we can agree on is our shared commitment to making Toronto a place where businesses, families, and workers can thrive.
“As Ontario and Toronto continue to grow, it’s never been more important to get on with building homes and public transit, especially where they can be built together to create communities where people can live, work, and enjoy time with their friends and family. Our government is working hard to make sure Ontario, including its most populous city, has a strong economy by creating the environment for businesses to invest and create good-paying jobs while keeping costs down for hardworking families.
“I hope that we continue to have a willing partner in the city of Toronto as we deliver on our plan to build Ontario. As I’ve always said, I will work with anyone ready to work with our government to better our city and province. There’s nothing we can’t achieve when we work together.
