Our fight against terrorism will continue until it is eradicated: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a high-level meeting on law and order, emphasized that the nation’s struggle against terrorism is a continuous jihad. He stated that terrorists will be dealt with decisively, and enemies of the country will never be able to challenge Pakistan’s strength.

He pointed out that the enemies of Pakistan are threatened by the country’s economic progress and stressed the need for unity across political and provincial lines to defeat terrorism. He praised the brave efforts of security forces, who are risking their lives to protect the nation.

The Prime Minister also directed authorities to tighten the grip on human trafficking networks and bring traffickers to justice. He instructed that all related institutions must intensify their efforts to dismantle these networks.

During the meeting, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the measures being taken to maintain security. It was shared that a National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center has been set up at NACTA.

Updates were also provided on the expansion of the Safe City projects. Currently active in 10 cities in Punjab, the initiative is being extended to major cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and others. Projects for DI Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Gwadar are also in progress.

The Prime Minister ordered the speedy completion of these Safe City projects and also approved steps to establish digital enforcement stations on major highways to curb smuggling. Furthermore, operations are underway to remove illegal structures around major cities.

It was also revealed that a crackdown on professional beggars is ongoing across the country, with measures to prevent them from traveling abroad. Forensic science agencies are being improved, with one already operational in Islamabad and more upgrades planned for Punjab.
