BRAMPTON – The City of Brampton is proud to partner with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket Canada to bring the T20 World Cup trophy to Brampton.
Residents are invited to gather on Saturday, May 11, in Ken Whillans Square and take part in the official send-off for Team Canada ahead of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup Tournament in June. Attendees will be able to take a photo with the T20 World Cup trophy and meet some of the Team Canada men’s and women players including:

Cricket in Brampton Highlights
- In the 2024 Budget, the City of Brampton committed to invest $8 million in cricket infrastructure and programming.
- Beginning July 2, 2024, the City will kick off the first-ever Youth Cricket League. Youth ages six to 15 are encouraged to learn a new sport and improve their cricket skills this summer. This initiative aims to encourage youth to get active, lead healthy lifestyles and experience the power of sport. To register, visit Brampton.ca/cricket.
- Brampton is home to 19 cricket sites and is growing!
- During summer 2023, the City of Brampton hosted the GT20 Tournament, welcoming some of the top international cricket players and some of the biggest names in the sport.
- The City’s cricket amenities host 42 unique seasonal organizations, tournaments and individuals that book over 14,000 hours of field time.
- The City Lands project is a proposed redevelopment of the municipal-owned site at Kennedy Road South, Highway 410 and 407, at the CAA sports and entertainment facility that includes a new state-of-the-art, multi-purpose cricket facility.
