BRAMPTON– The City of Brampton celebrated the official opening of the new Rosalea Park Tennis Facility. Located in downtown Brampton, this new recreation amenity will serve as a year-round hub for tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels, with a special focus on youth programming, connecting more Brampton residents to the sport.

Rosalea Park Tennis Facility includes three new high-quality asphalt acrylic tennis courts. During the winter months, the courts are covered by an air-supported dome, offering year-round access to the tennis courts. The facility will be operated in partnership with Premier Racquet Clubs (PRC). A variety of programs will be available at the new facility, including:

  • City of Brampton recreational tennis lessons for parent and child, youth, adults and seniors (offered by PRC on behalf of the City of Brampton at the rate of typical city user fees).
  • Court bookings for drop-in play (offered through PRC).
  • Group lessons, high-performance programs and tournaments (offered through PRC).

As Brampton is home to more than 153,000 youth ages 14-29, programming at the tennis facility will prioritize youth engagement. Residents can visit brampton.ca/recreation for more information on programs and schedules.

This new facility adds to the more than 60 outdoor tennis courts in Brampton. The City invested $6.8 million to develop the Rosalea Park Tennis Facility, and in the 2024 Budget, Brampton allocated an additional $2 million to revitalize 23 tennis courts across the city. These investments help improve tennis amenities to meet the growing demand for tennis facilities and programming within Brampton.

As set out in Brampton’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP)a guiding document for the delivery of parks, open space, recreation and sports facilities over the next 15 years, the City remains committed to expanding recreation opportunities for residents with two additional tennis projects planned at Gore Meadows East Community Park and the future Embleton Community Centre. Providing residents with access to high-quality recreation amenities that promote healthy and active lifestyles, remains a top priority for the City. Brampton will continue to pursue opportunities and partnerships to deliver these vital services and meet the needs of the growing population.
