Ottawa – Canada Olympics says: “We’ve partnered with the Canadian Olympic Committee and Team Canada athletes to launch CF Play Makers, a program committed to building play spaces to inspire more children to play and stay in sport.” Damian Warner, Olympic Gold Medalist, Decathlon, added: “For many Team Canada athletes, myself included, playtime as children and teens was formative in our athletic journey. We wouldn’t be where we are today without it.” Unstructured play is essential to a child’s physical, social, and emotional development. And this type of play has a direct correlation with children’s likelihood of entering sport. The CF Play Makers program is a commitment to help more kids have the opportunity to experience the health benefits of physical activity and sport.
