BRAMPTON – The City of Brampton and Peel District School Board (PDSB) unveiled the new and enhanced Central Peel Turf Field. This is the first of four recreation amenities that the City and PDSB will be unveiling this year. The facility includes a full-size synthetic turf multiuse sports field, an 8-lane rubberized running track, spectator seating, ancillary track activities including long jump, high jump and throwing, state of the art LED sports field lighting, a practice area for cricket and three basketball courts.
Through the City of Brampton and Peel District School Board’s collaborative work to revitalize this space, the facility will provide additional opportunities for youth and students in Brampton to stay active and participate in a variety of sports, like basketball, football, soccer and track and field. Sports are an integral part of healthy and active communities and the City is committed to increasing access to spaces and programming across Brampton for residents.
“Thank you to Peel District School Board for this partnership in creating additional opportunities in Brampton for students and the community to enjoy the activities they love. Sports and physical activity play a critical role in talent development and can also help contribute to the academic well-being of students. We are so proud to build on Brampton’s incredible amenities and invest in spaces like these for our youth so that our growing community can keep healthy while enjoying the activities they love!” -Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton
