Have your say – William Osler Health System Survey
Preliminary site work is underway on Brampton’s second hospital – a significant project that will bring Peel’s nearly 100-year legacy into the future with the construction of a multi-storey patient tower with room to grow, new and expanded outpatient services, and Brampton’s second 24/7 Emergency Department.
Building Brampton’s second hospital will bring a significant boost in services for patients, and will be larger than many other community hospitals in Ontario.
Osler is going through the stages of clinical planning for the new hospital and all required approvals with the Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario. Input from our community is always important during this process and we’re looking to hear from you on your new hospital’s look, feel and function.

Just Announced – Player Profiles
Malcolm Subban
This year’s event marks NHL goalie Malcolm Subban’s second consecutive Hockey Night in Brampton!
Unlike his big brother, NHL defenseman P.K., Malcolm Subban opted to be a goalie. The Toronto native was selected by the Boston Bruins in the first round (No. 24) of the 2012 NHL Draft and turned pro in 2013, spending the first of four seasons with Providence of the American Hockey League.
Subban joined the Vegas Golden Knights for the 2017-18 season with plans to back up starter Marc-Andre Fleury. That changed when Fleury went down with a concussion on Oct. 13, 2017. Subban earned his first NHL win two nights later, allowing one goal on 22 shots against the Bruins.
Subban went 13-4-2 with a 2.68 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 2017-18 and was a big reason the Golden Knights set numerous NHL records for first-year teams. He played 41 games for Vegas the next two seasons before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 24, 2020. He is currently under contract to the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Raffi Torres
Raphael (Raffi) Torres is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. With strong roots in Brampton, Torres played three seasons with the OHL’s Brampton Battalion where he was then drafted by the New York Islanders fifth overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks.
Ron MacLean
Ronald (Ron) MacLean s a Canadian sportscaster for the CBC and Rogers Media, best known as the host of Hockey Night in Canada from 1986 to 2014 and again since 2016, and is also a hockey referee.
MacLean has won eight Gemini Awards for his work with CBC. His first was in 1992 for Best Sports Broadcaster; he also won the Best Sports Broadcaster award in 1994, 1997, 1998 and 2001. He won Best Host or Interviewer in a Sports Program or Sportscast in 2004 and again in 2006. In 1996, he was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was inducted into the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame. In 2016, MacLean, received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Rod Black
Joining this year as his first Hockey Night in Brampton, Rod Black is a Canadian sports announcer best known for his work with CTV Sports and TSN from 1990 to 2021.
In 2005, Black won the Sports Media Canada Award as Outstanding Sports Broadcaster and has earned five Gemini Award nominations for Best Sports Broadcaster. In 2008, he was named to the roll of honour of the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. In 2013, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his volunteer work with Plan Canada.

I encourage everyone to get their tickets while they’re still available, and join us for an evening of hockey and fun that you won’t forget!” – Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton
