Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday.

As captain of Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya achieved something against Lucknow Super Giants that no other captain in IPL’s 17-year history has accomplished.

Against Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants scored 203 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians’ captain Hardik Pandya delivered a brilliant bowling performance, taking 5 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs.

With this achievement, Hardik Pandya became the first captain to take 5 wickets in an IPL match. This was also his first-ever instance of taking 5 wickets in a T20 game.

Why did South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada leave the IPL abruptly and return to his home country?

In reply to a target of 204, Mumbai Indians could only manage 191 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs.

As a result, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs.

It is worth noting that previously, the best bowling figures by any IPL captain were 4 wickets for 16 runs, achieved by Anil Kumble, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2009.
