Riyadh – Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo won hearts of his fans during the Asian Champions League (AFC) match between Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and the Iranian club Persepolis, when he was knocked down while trying to score on a cross from Sadio Mane. Thinking it was a foul, Chinese referee Ma Ning gave penalty to the Ronaldo-led Saudi side but he objected to it. So the referee reviewed via the video assistant referee (VAR) the replay, which showed there was no foul. He revoked penalty call. The match ended in a draw with both teams failing to score.
