Toronto – Mayor Olivia Chow invites Toronto residents to the outdoor ice rink at Nathan Phillips Square for the Mayor’s Annual Skating Party on Sunday, January 7. Free to all, this event gives participants an opportunity to ring in the new year with the Mayor and members of Toronto City Council. Skates will be made available for free along with complimentary hot beverages.

Location: Nathan Phillips Square ice rink, 100 Queen Street West
Activities at the event include:
- Meet and skate with players from Toronto’s new Professional Women’s Hockey League team
- Learn from Fire Keeper Geoff Daybutch about the significance of ceremonial fires in Indigenous culture
- Try Indigenous winter sports organized by the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto
