PITTSBURGH –  Dick Groat from All-American guard in basketball has died at age 92 at UMPC Presbyterian Hospital due to complications from a stroke. He was a two-sport star who had a brief stint in the NBA. he later became All-Star shortstop and the 1960 National League MVP while playing baseball for his hometown Pittsburgh Pirates.
