Paris – Iga Swiatek, 22, currently world number one, and defending champion, has managed to advance to the second round of the French Open. She defeated Cristina Bucsa in straight-sets 6-4, 6-0. She aims to become the first woman since 2007 to successfully defend the title at Roland Garros.
